​STANDARD OF ETHICS

As a Reiki Practitioner, Emotion Code Practitioner, and Intuitive Energy Practitioner, I agree to:

1. Abide by a vow of confidentiality. Any information that is discussed within the context of a session or class with me is confidential between myself and my clients and students.

2. Provide a safe and comfortable area for sessions or classes. Work to provide an empowering and supportive environment for clients and students.

3. Abide by all county, state and national laws and rules, if any, regarding Reiki, The Emotion Code, and any complementary integrative modalities that I practice. 

4. Always treat my clients and students with the utmost respect and honor.

5. Have a pure and clear intention to offer my services for the highest good of my clients and the highest potential of my students.

6. Provide a brief oral or written description of what happens during a session and what to expect before a client’s initial session.

7. Provide a clear written description of subjects to be taught during each level of a Reiki course or other modality that I teach prior to class. 

8. Be respectful of all others’ views and paths in regards to Reiki, The Emotion Code and other energy healing modalities.

9. Educate my clients and students on the value of Reiki, The Emotion Code, and any complementary integrative modalities that I practice. Explain that sessions do not guarantee a cure, nor are they ever a substitute for qualified medical or professional care. These modalities are part of an integrative healing or wellness program, meant to enhance traditional treatment protocols. 

10. Suggest a consultation or referral to qualified licensed professionals (medical doctor, licensed therapist, etc.) when appropriate. 

11. Never diagnose or prescribe. Never suggest that my clients or students change prescribed treatment or interfere with the treatment of a licensed health care provider. 

12. Be sensitive to the boundary needs of my clients and students. 

13. Never ask my clients to disrobe during an in-person session or otherwise. Never touch the genital area or breasts during an in-person session. Practicing of hands-off healing is 100% during an in-person session. 

14. Will work to create harmony and friendly cooperation between myself and other Practitioners in my community and will represent the organizations that I am associated with in the most professional manner. 

15. Act as a beacon in my community by doing the best work possible. 

16. Work to empower my students to heal themselves and to encourage and assist them in the development of their work within the energy healing modalities that I teach. Be available for questions and assistance after students complete a course with me. 

17. Be actively working on my own healing so as to embody and fully express the essence of Reiki and other energy healing modalities in everything that I do.
